Biothane Collar

Collars made from BioThane strapping - which is essentially a waterproof and stink-proof material. There are two kinds of hardware to choose from - silver or black - both types selected with the expectation they will hold up to frequent water use but should be rinsed off after exposure to saltwater.

Silver hardware includes a buckle made from aluminum, and remaining hardware in nickel-coated brass.

Black hardware includes a strong plastic buckle and remaining hardware is coated brass. Please note that black coating on brass is not as chip proof as the silver/nickel - some visible wear and tear is expected and is why we are not offering black-coated buckles.  

The accent color is the piece that has the two screws near the ring that the leash connects to, the primary color is the rest of the collar. 

Sizing. Please carefully measure your dog's neck, leaving at least enough space for 2 fingers to fit under the collar. We try to use as little extra BioThane as possible to reduce the bulkiness of the collar. Please understand that we cannot be responsible for size mistakes made when ordering - please measure your dog's neck even if you think you remember what sizes they've worn in the past. 

Care. Please rinse collars after exposure to saltwater to reduce corrosion over time. You can use warm water and mild soap to wash. Please dry completely and be cautious about the risks for your pup's skin of spending too much time in any wet collar. As with any collar, we do not recommend that your pup be left alone while wearing the collar. 

Names and numbers are not available with these collars, unlike our nylon strap collars. 

Please note that BioThane^® is the brand name of all coated webbing products made by BioThane Coated Webbing Corp. It’s basically a polyester webbing with a TPU or PVC coating that makes it more durable, waterproof, and easy to clean. It is manufactured in Ohio. This is the beta standard thickness which is still very strong but not as thick as super heavy BioThane.
